Integration by a new operating model
The world of broadcasting has gone through a drastic change from linear to streaming that has drastically affected the production companies with a lot of mergers and acquisitions as consequence.
Fremantle has acquired two of its competitors, and the companies have merged into one office. They now aim to establish the “new Fremantle” by a unified operating model and structure that facilitate the flow of competence and experience across the organisation.
Kapero was tasked with developing an organisational and operational structure and to define roles and responsibilities, The goal was to improve collaboration and streamlining processes. The structure encompasses the collaboration with clients such as TV4, SVT, Max, and others, from development, and production to post-production phases.
Following an assessment of the current set-up, covering processes, roles, responsibilities and processes, Kapero advised the following recommendations:
– New management structure with a connected meeting structure
– Defining roles to eliminate ambiguity, foster accountability, and ensure that responsibilities are well understood across the organisation.
– Clarifying Customer interfaces and internal responsibilities
– Unifying processes to secure a competence flow and best practice across the organisation.
“In TV-production creativity and drive is key and a structure must not hinder that. Our primary focus was to identify Fremantle’s challenges and build a desired state for the future. From that, we developed a clear, intuitive structure for operations, organisation, and responsibilities As a creative business at the forefront, Fremantle are very adaptive, and changes were implemented immediately!” Peter Lundberg, Kapero
“We have the best creative and experienced competencies in the business, and Kapero assisted in creating an intuitive and clear structure that elevates and unleashes the creativity and enables the collective competence to flow across. With their media and broadcasting experience, they managed to create a structure that will be effective for many years to come” Magnus Karlsson Lamm, CEO Fremantle Sweden
